Backyard Part 1

As I said before, I forgot to take any before pictures but it was pretty much just a grass/weed field. There was a block of cement that we pulled out and that's where we put our steps. Eddie had some slabs of cement just laying around and they worked perfectly. Jesse and I did all the rock work at the bottom. I think they turned out pretty well. I really like them!
Along the back of the house and behind the kennel, we are going to put some rocks and shrubs. We have gone out into the Bern hills quite a few times to get rocks and we have more trips to make but we have found some really great rocks for free. Once we have all that in place, we are going to fill in any empty areas with small river rock. These are just a few of the shrubs that we will be planting.

I was able to get this brand new swingset from King's for only $75 because they were wanting to get rid of it. It's not completely put together yet but Atreyu already loves the slide.
Eddie has also given us a huge tractor tire that I am going to paint green and then we will use it as a sandbox! The last thing that we'll need to get done, is planting grass and putting in the chainlink fence so Atreyu will have a safe place to play.

Summer is Coming to a Close

I can't believe it is already September...where has the summer gone? Oh wait a minute, we've really had like only 2 months of summer. I love the fall though so I won't complain. We have been busy working on getting our backyard landscaped. I forgot to take any before pictures but I will get out there and take some pictures from now on (hopefully).
Atreyu just keeps growing up (and much too quickly I might add). He has his own little funny personality. He absolutely loves tractors. He gets so excited about them. I found some videos on YouTube and let him watch them on the TV and he went crazy. He is so funny!

Atreyu has also learned to "cheese it up" when he is having his picture taken. I enjoy him so much and I am so glad that we have him in our lives. He recently has become pretty attached to his "blankie" and has to have it whenever he is tired. Anytime I would take him into the pharmacy, he would find the gorilla in the picture and carry it around the store with him, so I finally gave in and let him have it. He doesn't like it as much as his blankie but he likes to have it around too. Atreyu has also found that playing with the stools can be a lot of fun so he is constantly pushing them around for me.

Jesse is going back to school right now to get his Bachelor's as an RN. He may continue on and become a Nurse Anesthetist but he hasn't decided for sure yet. He is such a wonderful husband and father and we are thankful for all the hard work he does for us.
