Summer Shenanigans

At the beginning of August, Atreyu and Cambria went to a Samantha Harper's birthday party.  They were able to ride horses and play with different animals.  They had such a fun time playing with the kids and having a water fight.
We were able to take the kids to the county fair this month.  For a few years they didn't have the rides but last year they brought them back and the kids loved them!  They are ready for Lagoon!
A group call the Knights of Valour was at the fair this year.  They do real action jousting!  It was so awesome!  They actually broke lances on each other and a couple of the guys were thrown from their horses.  We're hoping they bring them back next year.
After the show we were able to visit with the knights and Atreyu bought a wooden sword that was made from a broken lance.  All the guys signed it for him and he decided that he wanted to be a knight for Halloween.  He has since changed his mind but he may go back to it.

Happy 2nd Birthday Cambria!

Our baby girl is two!!  I cannot believe it has already been two years since our little princess was born.  She has been such a light in our family and she has the sweetest little personality (unless she's upset.  She can be a little devil then.)  It's been fun watching her learn and grow.  Her favorite color is pink, her favorite movie is Wreck-It Ralph.  She loves Grandpa, kitties, babies and reading.

We were able to celebrate Cambria's birthday with Jesse's family.  I made her a Wreck-It Ralph cake and it was a big hit with all the kids.
I am so thankful I get to be the mother of this darling girl.  She is teaching me patience but I wouldn't trade her for anything.

Huckleberry Picking and Bear Lake

Cameron and Janell came up with their family last week and all of us went Huckleberry picking up Emigration Canyon.  The kids seemed to enjoy themselves and when the younger ones got sick of picking, they played with Grandpa in the truck.  Unfortunately, as we were trying to leave, the truck got stuck and Jesse and Eddie had to bring a tractor up there to get it out.  Other than that it was a fantastic little trip and everyone (excpet me) enjoyed the huckleberries.
The next day we had a family reunion with Jesse's grandpa's brothers and their families.  Seth and Jenny came up for that and when it ended we all went out to the lake.  The kids loved playing on the beach and swimming in the shallow water.  Grandpa also brought his boat and Jesse, Janell and I took a crazy ride on Big Mable.  It was such a wonderful day and I loved spending time with all the family.

Minnetonka Caves

Last week Abigael, Enoch and Alora came to visit Grandpa and Grandma and Atreyu was up at their house all week as well.  It was fun having them here and getting to visit with them.  One day we headed up to the Minnetonka Caves.  We hiked around outside while we were waiting and it was such a beautiful day.  I didn't take pictures in the caves but I got some while we were hiking.
Such a beautiful family!

A Trip to Logan

About a month ago Cambria got really interested in my earrings.  She would always try to put them on.  I thought about getting her clip-on's but I remember that any clip-on's I had that would actually stay on hurt my ears a lot.  I then showed Cambria quite a few videos of little girls getting their ears pierced and even after watching them she would tell me, "Earrings. Pink."  I told her many times that it would hurt to get her ears pierced but she still wanted earrings.

We had to run some errands in Preston so I decided we would head down to Logan as well and get her ears pierced as an early birthday present.  We had to kill some time while we were there so I took the kids to see the temple.  They were pretty excited about it and they loved walking around the temple grounds.
We then headed to Claire's.  I held Cambria on my lap and they pierced both her ears at the same time.  She cried for a few seconds until they offered her a sucker.  She stopped crying at that point and then just whimpered for a minute or so.  She hasn't touched them at all and when someone asks to see her earrings she tips her head to the side to show them.  She cried every time I would clean her ears for the first few days and tell me, "No, Mommy."  She's gotten much better since and she tells me about her ear piercing experience every time I clean her ears.  She's pretty proud of them and they look so darn cute!

Montana

We went up to Montana for the P.C. Lind family reunion in July.  Naturally, I forgot to take many pictures but we had a good time seeing family.  The kids traveled great!  My mom, sisters and I along with our daughters have decided to make it a yearly tradition to get pedicures.  It is so fun and relaxing.  Cambria even got to come and she had a blast!
I love visiting my family!  I am blessed with so many wonderful people in my life and I feel very grateful to be a part of their family.
