Sleddin' Fun

On Valentine's Day Atreyu wanted to play outside.  We got him all bundled up and he headed out the door with Diesel.  As I watched him out the window I realized that there were huge piles of snow all over and we had sleds under the house.  I pulled them out and he had a blast.  Cambria and I joined him in the snow for a bit and I had a lot of fun sledding down the snow piles.  Cambria would laugh any time Atreyu or I went down.  I'm glad that I took the time to play with my kids even though I really didn't want to go out in the cold.  We had a good time and played even when it started raining.

My Pretty Baby

How is it that Cambria is almost 19 months old already?  I don't know where all the time has gone but she is growing up and she definitely has her own personality.  Most days I ask her what she wants to wear and she usually grabs a dress out of her drawer.  She is so girly and I just love it!  She loves to watch the show Bubble Guppies and would watch it for hours if we let her.  She has recently learned how to say "milk" or in her words "mulk" and she constantly asks for it.  We have found that "mulk" usually means she just wants a drink.  It's nice that she is learning how to communicate with us.

Cambria has shown some interest in the potty over the last month or so.  She has peed once in it and pooped three times!  She is so proud of herself when she does it, too.  I haven't actually really stepped up the pace with getting her potty trained but where she seems to like it I may start trying a bit harder soon.  She is so different from Atreyu when it comes to this.  Atreyu was just potty trained at this time last year.  I really hope that she doesn't loose interest.

I have been trying to do some new hairstyles on Cambria recently and my mom sent me a link with some cute ones I tried.  She sits really well sometimes and it's a battle others.
I cannot believe how grown up she looks in the first picture.  The whole day her hair was fixed like that I would look at her and almost have to do a double take because she didn't look like my baby.  It's crazy what different hairstyles can do.

I am so thankful Heavenly Father blessed us with this sweet girl.  While I was pregnant with her before we found out she was a girl, I was kind of hoping for a boy since I already had all the boy stuff.  I am so glad that we got our girl, though.  She has been so much fun and I love cutesy-ing her all up.  She is such a blessing in my life and I wouldn't have it any other way.

A Couple Conversations with Atreyu

Atreyu is such a smart kid.  He has an excellent memory and a great imagination.  Here are a couple conversations Jesse and I have had with him recently.  They're pretty funny.

Jesse was teasing Atreyu and here is the conversation they had:
J: Atreyu, if you keep sucking your thumb it's gonna fall off.
A: It won't fall off.
J: You better stop sucking it so it doesn't fall off.
A: It won't fall off. It has bones.

He was very serious when he said this.

A little background for this story.  I try to read scriptures to Atreyu every night and one of the stories we read was when the angel came to Alma and the sons of Mosiah and told them they needed to repent and follow the commandments.  Jesse and Atreyu were playing super heroes and one of the good guys was turned bad and he and the rest of the bad guys were doing bad guy things.  Atreyu grabbed his X-Men Angel action figure and he yelled to the bad guys, "Be Good!"  Oh, my goodness, it was so funny.  Jesse and I agreed that how can you argue with an angel who tells you to be good so all the bad guys became good.  It made me happy that he had gotten something from our reading...I just think it's funny that this is what he got.

A Few Projects and Thrift Store Finds

A couple weeks ago I was able to go to Logan all by myself while Jesse watched the kids.  It was a much needed break and I loved getting out for a few hours.  I found a few things to decorate my kitchen.  I forgot to take before pictures but the "K" was bright green with blue spots.  It was really cute but didn't fit in with my kitchen theme.  I hung this above my stove and I really like it.
The basket thingy was a light green and this is how it turned out after.
This was a set of candlesticks I found and I love them.  Jesse thinks I'm weird decorating with candlesticks without putting candles in them but I don't think these ones need them.
I found this green shelf at our local thrift store last year and I was just trying to decide how I wanted to paint it.
I was planning on putting it in Cambria's room so I decided to paint it white.  I love the whole owl theme that is really popular for girls' rooms right now.  I got some stencils when I was in Logan and stenciled some owls onto the shelf.  They moved a bit so the stenciling isn't perfect but I think it turned out pretty cute.
I had a lot of fun with the projects and I want to find more things that I can do to add to my home.  Lastly, I found this chair at the thrift store for $8 and I thought it would be perfect for Cambria's room when we don't have the crib or changing table in there anymore.  The kids have both loved it and Cambria always sits in it when she watches her favorite show, Bubble Guppies.

Bath Time

Both my kids love bath time.  Atreyu sometimes spends an hour at a time playing in the tub.  He always thinks that he needs to sit in the back of the tub.  Cambria doesn't really care where she sits as long as she gets to play.  They both like bubbles and have requested them the last few times they've bathed.  I posted the first picture on Facebook and my mother informed me that Atreyu was looking more like a sister than a brother to Cambria with his long hair.  I had kept telling Atreyu that I needed to cut his hair but he didn't want me to because he wanted it long like Daddy's.  I was finally able to cut it and we told Atreyu Daddy would be getting his hair cut soon, too.
When I actually style his hair, I really like how it looks when it's long.  Even when I style it though, he plays around enough that it gets messed up and just looks messy.  His hair is just like Jesse's when  Jesse was a little boy and I love it.
