Bear Lake County Fair

Our local fair was this past week. On Wednesday, the kids and I rode on John Olson's float in the parade to get his name out there and try to secure him being elected as prosecutor this November. It was really windy but we all had fun throwing candy and waving to everyone. The theme for the fair was "Carnival Lights and Western Nights" so Kristina had everyone dress western and in red, white, and blue. I didn't get a picture of the float but here's a pic of the kids at home afterward.
They also thought they needed a picture with our garden gnome (whom they named Beardleaf). Atreyu had to make a tough face for one of the pictures.
Since Jesse was home on Friday, we took the kids to the fair that day and they rode rides for hours. We enjoyed the donuts, corndogs, cotton candy, and burgers as well but the rides were the best part for the kids.
We all rode on the ferris wheel together a couple times.
I cherish the time I get to spend with my family. I love when we all are together, having fun, and making memories.

The Dentist

The kids and I all had dentist appointments last week and I'm glad to say that there were no cavities! Hooray! This is the second time Cambria went and, unlike the first time, she let them clean her teeth. She was a little nervous but she did great!
This is old business to Atreyu and he had no problem getting his teeth clean or holding the fluoride tray in his mouth. He's such a trooper!
I love these two sillies!

Beauty and the Beast

There was a community production of Beauty and the Beast this summer and Bernie took me and the kids to see it. I had such a great time! I hadn't been to a play in so long. Atreyu really liked it as well and Cambria liked it but I think it was just a bit too long for her. Maybe next year.

Work and Play on the Farm

Last week Jesse, Bernie, the kids and I moved the yearlings to a different field after Jesse fixed some fences. Cambria loves helping with things on the farm.
Atreyu loves to help with the cows too and he was able to head off a road and turn the whole herd of yearlings into the field where they were supposed to go all on his own. He also LOVES Grandpa and Grandma's tree. He's pretending to be a Pokemon.

Scooter!

Cambria decided she wanted to get a scooter with her birthday money. I found a pink one and she loved it! She is already doing pretty well on it and we had to take it with us to the Browers this past week.

Blessing Weekend

A couple weekends ago, we went to Janell's for baby Myles' blessing. Cambria loved playing with their kitties. She thought she needed a picture with the one that we brought them from our friends here in Bern.
Archer and Cambria just wanted to stay with Grandpa during Sunday school and it wasn't until after a lot of coaxing that they finally decided their class would be more fun.
These two love their grandpa so much!

Birthday at the Beach

Cambria turned four at the beginning of this month! FOUR! I just had her! Sometimes I'm grateful my kids aren't babies anymore but there are times I really miss it.

We were able to have Cambria's party at Josh's aunt's condo out at Bear Lake. We had so much fun with all the friends that were able to be there; Annie and Cody, Josh and Kim, John and Kristina, Josh's sister Tiffanie, and all their kiddos. We had fun playing on the beach and in the pool, and the kids all had a blast playing together in the condo.
Cambria originally wanted a Power Puff Girls birthday but since I couldn't find many good toys to put on her cake she decided she would like Strawberry Shortcake. I love how this cake turned out. It's one of my very favorites!
All the kids loved this cake as well and they devoured the cupcakes almost instantly!
Annie was able to take some cute shots of the kids. I love this one. Please let them get married!
Here's my sweet kiddos. As much as they like to irritate each other, they also love each other so much! I hope that Atreyu can be the big brother to Cambria that I always wanted. He's doing pretty good so far.
Cambria got some snuggle time with her daddy before she was completely worn out and fell asleep.
I got all the girls these matching outfits to go along with the Strawberry Shortcake theme and they were all so darling!
We had to get a shot of all the boys too.
And lastly, we needed a picture of all of us friends. Annie got Gage to take the pictures and he did pretty good considering he could hardly hold the camera and push the button at the same time.
I am truly thankful for each one of these people. Friends have always been so important to me and I'm so glad that our husbands, who were friends in high school, are still friends today and that I got so many girlfriends out of the deal.

Huckleberry Picking

While Jesse's sisters and their families were here we thought it would be a fun idea to pick huckleberries. I didn't know that Seth had never been but I think he really enjoyed it. Between all of us, we picked about two gallon buckets full. I don't care for them but everyone else loved the huckleberry pancakes. Atreyu is such a great picker! He maybe ate five berries the whole time we were picking.
Jesse told me I should make some raspberry-huckleberry (or as Josh Kunz calls it, Rascalberry) freezer jam. I had never made jam before but the freezer jam was so simple. Jesse loved it!
