Ups & Downs

What happened to my sweet little boy? He has now become quite a little terror. Yesterday, I had an ultrasound and he fell asleep during it so I had to wake him up when it was time to leave. I had to fight him getting out of the hospital, again to cross the parking lot and then I spent a good 15 minutes in the car waiting for him to calm down enough so that it was only a small fight to get him buckled in his car seat. I then laid him down when we got home and he didn't take a long enough nap so he woke up cranky and I had to take him visiting teaching with me because he was going to be too bratty to leave with Grandma and Grandpa. He did eventually calm down and behaved the rest of the night thankfully.

Now again today, I let him ride down on the 4-wheeler with Jesse so they could work cows and on the ride home in the truck, he starts hitting me and pulling my hair. I really hope that this mean, violent phase is short-lived because I don't think I can handle this attitude every single day.

Back to the ultrasound, however, everything is looking really good. I was technically 29 weeks yesterday and she is measuring at 29 weeks, 2 days. Oh, and she is still a girl ;) I have started getting a little more heartburn, shortness of breath, I have to go to the bathroom more often and I am already getting hot at night even though it's still pretty cool here. I still have good energy during the day but I am definitely ready to go to bed at night. I am getting very excited to meet this little girl but I also can't believe she is coming so quickly.

Birthday Weekend

So of course, I forgot to take any pictures on my birthday but it was a great day that lasted through the weekend. Jesse worked a night shift the night before and when he came home, he brought me a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit from Maverik (which I love), a chocolate donut (which Atreyu ate most of) and chocolate milk so that I could have breakfast in bed. Eating in bed with Atreyu would have been disastrous however, so we sat on the floor. We then let Jesse go to sleep and Atreyu wanted to watch "Woody". We started it and then the power went out because of the thunder storm. We then sat at the table and colored with each other. It was fun to just be able to spend some quiet time with him.

Jesse, Eddie and Bernie are all on diets right now, so none of them were going to eat any cake with me. Instead, Bernie got me and Atreyu each a donut and we put a candle in it. It was fun and Atreyu loved it! That evening, Eddie and Bernie watched Atreyu and Jesse took me to Cooper's Restaurant at Bear Lake West where we had an amazing dinner. They have such a variety of food and there and it is all so good. We visited with my cousin Zac for a bit while we were out there and then we came home, got Atreyu to bed and watched a movie with Eddie and Bernie.

On Saturday, we went swimming with Josh and Kim at Lava Hot Springs and then had some really great pizza at a place there in town. Atreyu liked swimming but he got a little scared after he went down this little slide. It was a fun day and Atreyu keeps talking about swimming with Josh and Kim. On Sunday, Jesse and Eddie grilled us some burgers (which are always delicious) and we had a good day with each other and Eddie and Bernie.

I am so thankful to have such a wonderful family who loves me so much. I am very blessed and I love my life so much!

Some Recent Happenings

The weather has been absolutely beautiful lately. We have been able to spend a lot of time doing things outside and everyday Atreyu begs to go outside. I set up his little froggy pool the other day so he could go "swimming" and he loves to play out there. It didn't really seem to matter to him that the water was pretty cold. He just wanted to play. We planted grass in our backyard and it is starting to come up pretty well. I haven't got any pictures of it yet but I will post some later.

Atreyu occasionally finds the camera and brings it to me saying "cheese". He only smiles, however, when he is in the mood to do so but here is a picture of him wanting to "cheese". I get a kick out of him. He loves playing with his trucks and tractors and jabbers to himself while playing. It is so entertaining just to listen to him.

He also loves to watch the Toy Story movies and asks for "Woody" everyday. Yesterday he was acting really tired but there was still an hour before his normal nap time and I wanted to make sure he slept long enough. He asked for Woody so I turned it on for him and about 2 minutes later, he was asleep. He never falls asleep on the couch so it was kind of cute to see him laying there zonked out. He really is a good boy with a great imagination. I love being home with him everyday and have the opportunity to constantly see him learn new things.

Everything is going pretty well pregnancy wise. I am just barely hitting my third trimester and I am suddenly finding it more difficult to breath and I have been getting a little more tired than I was. I feel good otherwise and we are all just so excited to see this little girl in a few more months!
