Coheed and Cambria

While we were in Monterey with the Lockwoods, Jesse and Kirk realized that Coheed and Cambria were having a concert in Boise only nine days from then, so they made the plan to drive up there, go to the concert, stay the night, and then drive home. They had a good trip up there and met our friend, Cody Brower, at the concert. They said it was a great show. The only downside of the trip was that Kirk got a speeding ticket on the way home. It really put a damper on the trip for him, but he was still glad that he went. Krystle is one of my best friends and I love that her husband and my husband get along so well.

Barbie

Cambria has been begging me to take her to the Barbie movie and I finally gave in. I thought it was a cute movie, but I didn't like that they made Ken be the villain.  I did enjoy spending time with my girl, though.
At school we had another makeup competition. This time it was Barbie themed. I teamed up with my friend, Vanesa, and I think the end result was amazing. I made it into the top three. A lot of the people there thought that we should've won but for some reason they let the barbers vote and they chose the girl they knew and liked best. I won in my heart.
Cambria went with her friend, Kristina to a fun Barbie event, too.

Girls' Night

We had a girls' night at Sizzler the other night and it was so much fun! It was Krystle Lockwood, Jessica Tamez, Nicole Mosher, Annie Sill, Ashley Harvey, and me. We had some great conversations and we laughed so hard. I feel so blessed that I have been able to make so many wonderful friends here in Manteca. Heavenly Father knew I needed to have these friendships since we aren't going to be moving back to Idaho as soon as we originally planned.

Monterey

We usually take a trip to Monterey for my birthday each year, but because of school we weren't able to go this year. Almost every time we go, we stay two nights, but we decided to make a quick weekend trip and we stayed only one night. Phil's Fish Market, the restaurant we usually stop at in Moss Landing right on the beach relocated as the owners wouldn't renew their lease. We went to the new location and the food was just as good, but we had to order our desserts to go so we could keep of tradition of eating them on the beach. I love the beach at Moss Landing. It's always windy, a little cool, and the water isn't safe to swim in, but we always see wildlife every time we go. The kids also love chasing the waves there.
The next day we met up with the Lockwoods and we spent the day at Lover's Point and then finished off with Gianni's pizza.
