My sweet boy started first grade at the end of August. It is so crazy how quickly they grow up. Everyone told me that it would fly by and I'm completely seeing that. Atreyu has been doing well at school and he hasn't had as much homework (so far) as he did in kindergarten (weird!). His teacher is Mrs. George. He says she's really nice.
He was so excited to go the first day. He got ready really quickly and was out the door as soon as the bus got here. The two of us had a mini photo shoot while we were waiting.
Cambria was disappointed when she woke up and Atreyu was gone. She wanted to say good-bye to him. She really misses him while he's at school. She gets bored and I have to give her more attention than normal. I really need to remember how much of a blessing that is and not look at it as a job I have to do. I'm really trying to improve my attitude and give my kids the attention they need and deserve. I'm so grateful to be their mama and watch them learn and grow.

End of Summer Lake Fun
Kristina Olson and I decided to take our kids out to the lake the two days before school started. The weather was beautiful and since most the Utah families had already started school, there weren't many people there. The kids spent some time in the water but mostly in the sand digging and making castles.
There was a fire up Logan Canyon that really took off the second day we were at the lake. The billowing smoke looked really cool but it made the air nasty for a couple days afterward.
I'm so glad John and Kristina moved to Montpelier. It's been fun getting to know Kristina and their kids. I'm going to miss them when we start travel nursing.
