Moss Beach

Jesse wanted to go to the beach the other day so we packed up and headed west. We went to Moss Beach which is about two hours away. Since the temperatures have been in the 80's and 90's here in Manteca I assumed it would be pretty warm at the beach as well. It was only in the 60's and there were times I wished I had brought a jacket. It was such a beautiful day and as I was sitting on the beach with my family, it really hit me how incredibly blessed I am.
There are seals lying on the beach in these next two pictures but it's kind of hard to tell.
Cambria was cold so she laid in the sun and snuggled with her daddy.
Atreyu loved exploring the tide pools and Cambria loved playing in the sand and waves.

Big Trees

On Memorial Day we went to Calaveras Big Trees State Park. It's one of the only places to find Giant Sequoias. It's crazy not only how tall they grow but also how wide they get. They were so beautiful and impressive. Atreyu and Cambria loved the ones that had fallen the most. They pretended the fallen trees were pirate ships and whoever saw them first was the captain.
These two trees were called the Mother and Son.

Silly Bri

Cambria is such a funny little girl. She always keeps me on my toes and quite often she has more energy than I can keep up with. She loves playing outside, riding her bike, eating treats, and snuggling Diesel. I feel so blessed to be her mother.

School's Out For Summer

It has been a long year of homeschool for me. It's not something I would ordinarily do but I'm doing it out of necessity. I'm thankful for the break that we have for a few months. We'll keep doing a bit of school work everyday but not the normal intense schedule. I continually pray that I will have the patience for homeschool and that I can have a better attitude. I think it will happen in time. I am grateful for this opportunity to travel so the homeschooling is all worth it. Yay for summer break!

Chicago

Jesse's favorite band is Coheed and Cambria. He tries to see them in concert anytime they are close. This year it didn't work for him to go in either Salt Lake while we were there or down here in California. I asked him if there were any other concerts he could see on a weekend. He found one in Chicago and I told him that we had plenty of Southwest points for him to fly there if he wanted to ask some of his buddies to go with them. I really didn't think anyone would be able to go but Eli, Cody, and Josh all made it happen. They had a fun wife-free/kid-free weekend going to the concert and exploring the city.

I kept bothering Jesse that I wanted him to send me some photos and being the smart Alec that he is, he sent me this one.
He later sent some more legit pictures.
I'm thankful these boys were able to get together (even if I did miss out on Chicago). They all work so hard for their families and I'm glad they were able to treat themselves to a good time.
