I really think that time needs to slow down. My baby boy, who scared the entire hospital when he was born, is now seven years old. I honestly don't know how time has passed so quickly but I am so thankful that I have been blessed with this handsome boy for the past seven years. He is such a blessing in my life. He teaches me love, compassion, patience, and plenty about superheroes and Pokemon.
We celebrated Atreyu's birthday a few days early while we were in Bear Lake. We had a bunch of his friends and Grandma and Grandpa meet us at Arctic Circle in Montpelier and it was pretty crazy. There were so many kids there and they all had so much fun together. Moments like those make me want to give up on traveling and just stay home close to friends but then those moments wouldn't be as special and we would miss out on such an awesome opportunity.
I didn't have a lot of free time to make Atreyu a cake so for the first time ever, we bought him one. I added some Pokemon and Pokemon balls to the cake and he loved it just as much as any other cake he's had.
On his actual birthday, we were back in California but he woke up to balloons and had mini cinnamon rolls and chocolate milk for breakfast.
Now that Atreyu is getting older, he's started playing more board games with us and it's so much fun. Here he is playing Dominion but he has also learned to play Settlers of Catan, Carcassone, Talisman, and Splendor. He's such a smart boy and such a joy in my life.
