Family Pictures

A few weeks ago we went up into the Bern hills and our friend John Petersen took some wonderful family pictures for us.  He does a great job.  We want to go out again and get a few more with fall colors but schedules and weather seem to stop it from happening.

 

 

 

I love that in the second picture from the top Jesse and Atreyu have the same smile.  It's so sweet.  Jesse had to tickle Atreyu a little bit to get him to smile and they both thought it was funny.

My Kiddos

I am so lucky to be blessed with two sweet babies.  I can't believe how much they are growing up.  How does it happen so quickly? 

Atreyu is obsessed with superheroes right now.  Any spare moment Jesse has Atreyu tries to fill with superhero playing.  Jesse gets kind of tired of it but Atreyu loves it so much Jesse plays anyway.  He loves to play with friends.  He's always asking me to go to Isabella or Kaibree's house.  Today after story hour he thought he needed to play at Jaxyn's house and was upset when I said we had to go home.  His new favorite show is "Bubble Guppies" which he wants to watch constantly.  He always wants someone to play with him.  I don't feel like I can get things done without making him feel neglected.  When I have something to do I usually turn a show on for him so he is somewhat distracted from playing with me.  He can sing the ABC song pretty well and we are working on number recognition.  He likes to "read" books himself and talks as he flips through the pages.  We have been blessed with such a sweet smart boy.  He constantly tells me that I am "booful".  It kind of melts my heart.  Tonight as I tucked him into bed he said, "Mom, I love you."  Love... 

 

Cambria is becoming more and more a little person of her own.  She likes accessories: scarves, necklaces, etc.  Anything that she can climb up on, she does.  The other day Jesse found her sitting on the kitchen table playing with some change.  She had pulled our little red stool over to the table and climbed on up.  She wants your focused attention.  She was sitting on Jesse's lap looking at a book with him and she noticed he had started looking at his phone.  She grabbed his beard and pulled his head back to the book.  It was pretty funny.  She is starting to walk a little bit.  She just gets up and starts walking a few steps on her own and loves it when you get excited about her achievement.  Her favorite foods are string cheese and bananas.  Today she must not have been feeling very well.  She was so snugly.  I felt bad that she wasn't feeling well but I loved just being able to sit and love on her.

 

Like any siblings Atreyu and Cambria have their moments when they don't get along too well but for the most part they really seem to enjoy each other.  Atreyu loves to make Cambria laugh and she loves laughing at him.  Cambria already knows what buttons to push to get on Atreyu's nerves and he doesn't understand that she is still kind of a baby and he can be a little too rough with her.  I think they both really love having each other.

HIM and Volbeat

Jesse and I went to a concert with our friends Jen and John Petersen and his brother and sister-in-law Jed and Ariel.  We drove down to Layton and ate at Tepanyaki.  We haven't been there for a long time and it was just as delicious as I remember.  We then headed to Salt Lake for the concert.  We saw HIM and Volbeat (who were awesome) and All That Remains and Airboune opened for them.  It was really a fun concert.  I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I was going to. 

 

 

 

Stroganoff

One night I made homemade stroganoff for dinner.  Atreyu was doing his usual thing where he says he doesn't like it even though he hadn't tasted it yet.  Here was the coversation:
R: Eat your stroganoff.
A: Don't like it.
J: Eat it or I'll take apart Lego Ironman and Hulk.
Atreyu then took a bite and proceeded to make hacking, retching noises.  Jesse told him he had better not throw up.  Atreyu then took a drink of water and swallowed everything down. 
He then said: I like it.
Jesse and I both kind of snickered and Atreyu did eat some more but he had to take a drink of water with every bite.

A few days later I told Grandpa the story and I asked Atreyu if he liked the stroganoff.
A: Yes.
R: Did you like it or not really?
A: Not really.
At least he was honest about it.  He now admits anytime we ask him that he, in fact, did not like it.

Batman and Bumblebee

Yet again, Jesse has made some more awesome Lego creations.  Atreyu loves Batman so, naturally, he wanted a Lego Batman.

The same night Jesse built Batman Atreyu built his own "bad guy".

Since he loves Batman so much, Atreyu said that he wanted to be Batman for Halloween.  I ordered him a costume and he already has gotten a lot of use out of it. 

 

Just last night, Atreyu asked Jesse for Bumblebee from Transformers.  Of course, Jesse had no trouble making him one.  I don't know how he does it.

 

Having Fun with the Browers

A few weeks ago we visited Annie and Cody.  They were still living with Cody's parents at the time.  Some of Gage and Asher's cousins were there and all the kids had so much fun.  Grandma Leisha set up a slip-n-slide for the kids and (for the most part) all the kids had a lot of fun.  She is definitely a cool grandma.

 

While we were there, Cambria and Asher shared some cereal on the floor.  It's funny because Atreyu and Gage did the same thing when they were about the same age.

 

It's nice having friends the same age for my kids to play with.  We love that Annie and Cody are living closer again.
