Trampolines and Sprinklers

After the bounce house didn't really work out earlier this year, I decided to get a trampoline. Apparently everyone else had the same idea and it was hard to find one. I was able to order one on Amazon but it wasn't supposed to come for a month. The month passed, and it still wasn't here. Another month, and still no trampoline. I contacted them multiple times and after them telling me that it still wouldn't be here three months later, I contacted Amazon directly and canceled the order. I got a refund and the trampoline showed up a week later.

The box was beat up and there were missing springs but I ordered some more springs and kept the free trampoline. I am so thankful that I got a refund on it beforehand because after only a few days, the frame totally bent with only three kids jumping on it. Thank goodness no one was hurt but I was frustrated as it had taken so much time and effort to set up.

Thankfully, I was able to order a better quality trampoline for cheaper that arrived a week later. The kids have loved it! As much as I am ready for it to finally start cooling off and looking like fall, the girls are completely enjoying the warm weather. They have spent the past few days jumping on the trampoline with the sprinkler. Even Cosette loves it.

Park

We haven't gone to the park in a long time. We mostly just stay home. Thank goodness for a nice yard and neighbors to play with or we would have gone stir crazy a long time ago.

The kids and I went on a bike ride to the park and Cosette remembered how much she liked playing there. It was so nice to get out and to feel like we were doing something "normal" again. Unfortunately, Cambria got a flat tire and we had to walk the bikes home but, overall, it was a fun outing.

Girl Date

Because of Covid, it has been a long time since we have gone shopping. Cambria, Cosette, and I decided to have a girls' day while the boys stayed home and built Warhammer models. We went to Modesto and went to Hobby Lobby and the mall. We had fun walking through the different shops. Cambria bought these "best friend" necklaces to share with Mai and she and Cosette both got animals from Build-A-Bear. Sadly, I didn't even think to take pictures until we were about to leave.

I'm so thankful for my girls and the love they give me.

Stickers and Muffins

Sometimes I feel like a bad mom. I find myself taking a lot of pictures of Cosette but not near as many of Atreyu and Cambria. Toddlers are just so cute, it's hard not to capture the things they do. Plus, she usually lets me take pictures much more easily than my big kids. Cambria recently showed Cosette stickers and the two of them had fun putting them all over Cosette's face and dress.

I made chocolate chip muffins and Cosette loved them! She also loves putting bows and headbands in her hair.

Snake

This year Cambria had an unusual request for her birthday. It makes me wonder if she is actually my daughter. She begged for a snake. A snake! I have never liked snakes and for years I told my family there was no way we were ever going to have a snake in our house. Somehow, Cambria wore me down and after a long discussion with the family telling them that I was not even a tiny bit responsible for anything relating to the snake, I gave in. Jesse wanted her to get a California King Snake at first but after going to the pet store and seeing how fast and wiggly they are, we decided to get a Ball Python.

This is the first one Cambria held and she fell in love with it. I took her to other pet stores to hold other ones but she loved this one which has become known as "Nake" since Cambria has yet to pick a name and that's what Cosette calls her. She is very friendly and mellow. I haven't held her but I have pet her a couple times.
It's rather fascinating watching her eat. She grabs the mouse in her mouth and coils around her in one fluid movement. Then she swallows the mouse whole.

Corn on the Cob

I remember when Cambria was little, she loved corn on the cob and it seems that Cosette feels the same way.

Oobleck

About a month ago. Cambria watched a show called Emily's Wonder Lab. They do different science experiments and Cambria has been begging to make the Oobleck that they made on one episode. It consisted of cornstarch, water, and food coloring. Once mixed all together, they don't make a liquid or a solid but they make both. It's really weird and fun at the same time.

I left the kitchen for about 10 minutes to let Cambria and Mai play with it, which turned out to be a big mistake. They made a mess all over the counters, cupboards, and floors. I was not too pleased and promised never to make it again, but they had fun while it lasted.
