We spent the first five days on Maui at a resort called Kahana Sunset. It was in such a beautiful location, right on the beach. Cosette loved the pool and Magnus finally learned that swimming isn't so horrible. We visited the Banyan Tree in Lahaina which is just one enormous tree. It was incredible! The kids were disappointed that climbing was not allowed but the Banyan Treats made up for it.
The island of Maui is shaped like a woman's head. George took us on a tour going around the top of her head and it was all so beautiful. The kids wanted to be out playing and not stuck in the car but it was important to George.
The next day Jesse took the big kids snorkeling, while George explored some of his stomping grounds and I stayed at the condo with the littles. We played on the beach and in the pool. Jesse forgot to take his phone out of his pocket when he went snorkeling. Thank goodness I was able to call it, and someone had found it. We were able to meet up with them to get his phone back which was still working. Lots of blessings right there.
We were able to meet some of George's friends on the island and spend so time with them. They were able to share some of the history of the island with us. It was so interesting, and George had such a great time visiting old friends.

On our second to last day on Maui, we went on the Road to Hana. It is such an incredible drive with some breathtaking views. I was able to get an app that gave us information throughout the whole drive. One of our very first stops was Twin Falls. We probably could've just spent the whole day there. The falls were beautiful, and we had such a fun time jumping off of them. Unfortunately, Jesse forgot that he had the car FOB in his pocket and by the time we got back to the vehicle we had a very difficult time getting it to start. It was so frustrating but with a lot of prayers, the car started, and we were able to continue on our journey.
We stopped a couple more times along the road but every time the car had trouble starting so we decided to head back to the condo. Poor Magnus got sick and threw up on the windy roads which Jesse referred to as the "Hawaiian Rollercoaster".
We spent our last full day at the beach. I went out snorkeling with Atreyu while Jesse stayed with the littles. I had fun but my goggles kept leaking, so I didn't stay out too long. Jesse and I then traded places. It was such a wonderful beach day. I was sad to leave Maui. After visiting Oahu, I've decided Maui is my favorite of the two.
