Memorial Day

Jesse had to work on Memorial Day this year, but Atreyu and I had the opportunity to help clean up a huge Memorial Day celebration that was put on by the city. I didn't realize there had been a celebration until they announced in church that they needed volunteers to help clean up, so we didn't actually go to the celebration itself. It was a wonderful opportunity to serve and look at some of the things they had set up to remember those who have served our country.

Once Atreyu and I got home, I took all the kids out for donuts.

Jaden's Middle School Graduation Party

Our neighbor Jaden is moving onto high school. The kids helped them get ready for the party by washing and sorting the crawfish that had been delivered. They all thought it was a hoot!

Jaden had a lot of family and friends at the party supporting him. I'm thankful that we are included with this wonderful family.

Last Day of School

Atreyu and Cambria had their last day of school on Friday. It feels like they just started the school year. They both did great this year and were on the Honor Roll every trimester. I can't believe they are already moving onto 7th and 5th grade. What happened to my babies?

It's (Almost) Summer Time

Summer starts much earlier here than in Idaho. The kids have been begging me to get another pool since the last one got a hole, but I really wasn't wanting to get another one, so we just borrowed one from the Huynhs. The kids are already loving playing outside and enjoying the warm weather.

Saying Good-Bye to the McKees

Our good friends from the ward, the McKees, are moving at the end of the month. I used to go on walks with Jen pre-Covid. She is such a sweet friend who always listens and never judges. I'm thankful I was able to have her in my life and we are all going to miss her and her family. We had them join us for dinner as a last hurrah before they left.

Happy Birthday to Me

It's become a nice tradition for our family to go to Monterey for my birthday. We love going to Moss Landing on the way and eating at Phil's Fish Market. We were so lucky this time! After we finished eating, we sat on the beach and there was some kind of feeding frenzy out in the ocean. We saw Humpback whales breaking the surface and birds flying and diving all over. It was so cool! Poor, little Cosette got sand her eyes, so she didn't get to enjoy it as much. Cambria and Atreyu had a blast!

The next day we drove down to Big Sur and visited Pfieffer Beach. It was so beautiful but very windy and the littles did not appreciate getting sand blasted. Jesse and the big kids had fun climbing up a big sand hill and then racing down. After a couple hours there, we went back to Monterey, stopped at On the Beach Surf Shop to get Jesse some new swim trunks, and played at Lover's Point. 

The next day we had fun at the aquarium before heading home. It was such a lovely trip.

Dance Party!

These girls all love to dance and do all types of gymnastics tricks with each other. We had a dance party and they had a blast doing tricks all together.
