A Funny Note

It's always fun when your kids learn to read and write. Cosette was really upset with me yesterday. I had sent her to her room, so she wrote this note that said "go Mom!" (meaning "go away") and slid it under the door. My feelings might have been a little hurt if it wasn't so funny.

Baby Bird

Cosette and Magnus saved a baby bird they found in the yard from our cat. They wish they could've brought it inside to take care of it, but we could hear its mama up in a tree. We didn't want to leave it on the ground where the cats could get it, so Atreyu put it in a bag on his back and climbed the tree. He carefully put it in the tree, and we hope that its mama was able to come take care of it.

Last Day of School

We are all excited when it's the last day of school. I can't believe another school year has come and gone. The kids are growing up way too fast! To celebrate, we all went and tried the rolled ice cream place here in town. It was so yummy but so pricey that we probably won't go back again. 

My 41st Birthday

 I felt like my birthday celebration lasted for a few weeks. On the actual day, we went to church and all my girlfriends, and I wore matching Minnie Mouse dresses. Jesse even wore a Mickey Mouse tie. We probably looked a little ridiculous, but it was so fun! That afternoon, Krystle threw a little party for me at her house. I just love all these people! Birthdays wouldn't mean much if I wasn't able to spend them with those that I love.

Monterey

It's become tradition that we go to Monterey for my birthday. We went on Friday and stopped at Phil's Fish Market and the beach at Moss Landing. Even though it's not a safe beach to swim at, it's one of our favorites to chase the waves, collect shells, and watch the wildlife. 

The next morning, Magnus woke up and played for a bit but then fell back to sleep with his sunglasses on and looked adorable. We then met the Lockwoods at Red's Donuts and then went to the beach at Lover's Point. We explored the tide pools where Cambria slipped and cut herself up pretty badly, but she still made the best of the day. We had a great time tossing the frisbee around, building sandcastles, swimming, and enjoying the sun. 

We left the beach and went to Gianni's Pizza before heading home. It was perfect to be able to spend time with some of my most favorite people in one of my most favorite places.
