I was able to take the kids and Cindie to a renaissance fair in Soda Springs a few weeks ago. Atreyu and Cambria dressed up and they all went on a "kid quest" where they learned the "skills" they would need to battle the dragon. They just stopped at the different booths and heard stories or did little projects. Then the dragon came and with all their new found "skill" they defeated him.
The kids then returned to the Queen who knighted each of them for their bravery.
We also had fun visiting the mermaids, listening to the pirates' music, and watching the knights battle.
Atreyu asked me how old you had to be to be one of the knights because he thought it would be really cool. We found out the youngest knight competing that day was 15.
I let the kids pick out a couple things they wanted and Atreyu found the Elder Wand from Harry Potter and thought he needed it.
Cambria and Cindie started to get tired during the battle and they rested in the shade.

I really love renaissance fairs and we really had so much fun!
