4th of July Fun!

Jesse had to work a night shift on the 4th of July this year so our little family set off a few fireworks the night before. Jesse let the kids help light the fuses and they had a blast.
Both the kids were a little wary of the the sparklers at first but after they got used to them they had a fun time.
On the 4th while Jesse was sleeping we went to the parade in Paris with Grandma and Grandpa and Kim and Sophrosyne Kunz. Atreyu and I rode on the Bern Ward float and threw out candy. Atreyu kept stashing the kind he liked behind his back. It was pretty entertaining. Cambria stayed with Grandma and Grandpa and collected candy. They said she had a lot of fun and loved to pick up the pink candies.
After the parade we had lunch at Arctic Circle and then we came home and spent the afternoon playing with Kim and Sophie. In the evening Josh and his brothers and a couple of their friends came out and lit fireworks. It was really nice that they supplied the fireworks and I was able to just sit back and enjoy them.

The next day was fast Sunday and Atreyu and I bore our testimonies in sacrament meeting. I love that he will go up with me and that he's eager to share his testimony. Even though I help him say pretty much everything I see that he's learning and understanding the gospel. It really warms my heart and makes me feel that I am doing something right by reading the kids their scriptures every night and taking them to church every Sunday. I hope that both my kids will gain a strong testimony and love of the gospel.

We definitely had a good weekend but we did wish that Jesse would have been able to spend more time with us. I truly appreciates that he works hard to provide for our family even though that means that he will miss out on a lot of the fun things we do.

I am so grateful for this wonderful, free country we are privileged to live in. I don't know why we are so blessed and lucky to get to live in such a wonderful place when so many people in other countries struggle so much. I am so thankful for the brave men and women who gave up so much so that I could live free with my family. I know that this is the promised land and that even at this time when there is so much disquiet and discontent in our country it is still the greatest nation in the world. I pray that the people in our country will be able to become united and that those who are living lives against the teachings of our Savior will have their hearts softened. God bless the USA!
