Santa Cruz

Jesse and I love that we can take a mini vacation every weekend and see things that we never would have seen if he hadn't started travel nursing. We were able to go to Santa Cruz a few weekends ago. It's not what I thought it was going to be. I imagined a single roller coaster on a boardwalk with a bunch of quaint shops. I didn't realize it was a full-on amusement park. We had some delicious corn on the cob, salt water taffy, and funnel cakes. The kids went on a few rides and had fun in the ocean. Their haunted house ride was one of the best I have ever been on.
We stayed the night and spent the next day at Natural Bridges Beach. We explored a few tide pools where we were all able to hold some small crabs. I just enjoy being near the ocean listening to the waves crashing. I think my kids are so lucky that they get to spend so much time at the ocean. The first time I actually remember going to the ocean wasn't until I was 19 years old.
