Since Jesse was put in the bishopric and he also took the permanent job, we decided that since we wouldn't be able to come home as often it would be best to rent our house so it would be taken care of while we were gone. It was very emotional and taxing to go though everything in the house, throw things out, donate others, and then pack everything else. I have lived in that house longer than I have lived anywhere. We were so thankful for Eddie, Bernie, John Paul, Ammon and Shyrelle Simmons, and Robert Brunner for all their help packing, moving, painting, and cleaning. We got the house looking so nice and I was sad that we weren't even the ones who got to enjoy it.
One of the biggest projects for me while we were there was repainting Cambria's room. I let her pick out the color originally and she chose bright, bubblegum pink. It really didn't look too bright while I was painting it but once it dried it was almost overwhelming. Cambria loved it! I knew not everyone would appreciate the pink so I painted over it. We ended up going with a mint green and it turned out beautifully. Her room ended up being my favorite room in the house. The kids even helped me paint a bit.
This picture doesn't do it justice but it's the best one I got.
The kids also had fun playing with friends and spending time with Grandpa and Grandma. It was sad to leave and I'm still sad when I think about going home and not being able to go "home" but I know it's for the best. We were blessed and we got renters right away that we felt good about. I know Heavenly Father is leading and guiding us and I just need to keep remembering to put my trust in Him.
