The evening before Mother's Day, Jesse took Atreyu and Cambria to the store to pick something out for me. They came home with flowers, chocolates, and a big balloon. Jesse told me that Cambria had insisted that I really wanted the balloon to which I responded that he'd been played. A few days before, Cambria and I were at the store and there were dozens of Mother's Day balloons all around. She really wanted one but I told her they were Mother's Day balloons. She asked me which one my favorite was and I told her it would probably be the big cactus balloon. She said that was her favorite also and she begged me to get it but I didn't give in...however, Dad did, not knowing of our previous experience. She's a pretty smart, tricksy girl.
Atreyu and Cambria also drew some pictures for me. I love that they think of doing things like that all on their own. Cambria's says, "I love you. You are the best mom.
Mother's Day morning I unfortunately woke up with a sore neck. That was the only downside to the day. Jesse was downstairs making me breakfast before his church meetings. It was very delicious and made even better by the fact that I didn't have to make it. There were wonderful talks given in church and we spent the rest of the day together as a family. Jesse spent time with Cambria building this awesome beach house out of her Legos proving, yet again, that he is a master builder.
I am so thankful I'm married to such a wonderful man who loves me and our kids as much as he does. He makes time for each of us and helps us all to feel special. I'm so thankful that Heavenly Father blessed me with three beautiful children who are the joy of my life. Growing up, all I wanted to be was a wife and a mother and I am truly blessed.
