Deception Pass

A few days before Halloween we were able to drive up to Deception Pass and spend some time there. The highway goes over a bridge that connects to a small island and then another bridge that connects to Whidbey Island. We first stopped and explored a bit on the small, connecting island.
We then drove over to the state park on Whidbey Island and played in the trees. Jesse found a "tree slide" and the kids wanted to go down it over and over again.
After the trees, we headed to the beach. There were rocks to climb on as well as a couple seals occasionally poking their heads out of the water. This was Diesel's first time to the ocean. He learned from his one sip of salt water to stay away from it.
We then drove all the way to the other end of Whidbey Island with Cambria complaining most the time because her feet were wet and sandy. Who's fault was that? We took a ferry over to Everett and then had dinner. While in line for the ferry we parked behind a car with Cambria's name on it. It was pretty exciting for her.
It was such a fun day and I feel so blessed that we have the opportunity to live in such a beautiful area for a few months. What a fun life!
