Lake Tahoe

Jesse had to work on our anniversary so we celebrated the week later by taking a family trip to Lake Tahoe. It was so beautiful there. We were lucky and caught the fall colors as well as the lake being the clearest that it is all year. The first day we made the one mile hike down to Vikingsholm Castle. It's a cool, old house nestled inside a cove on the lake. It was so beautiful and I loved all the small details that were included in its design.
We spent the whole next day at Sand Harbor beach. There were giant rocks along the coast of the lake that we climbed on all day. The kids kept finding what Atreyu called "chambers" or little caves that they could climb down into. The weather was just perfect. I was thankful to be able to spend the day enjoying our Heavenly Father's creations with my family.
After dinner one night, we went to the Baked Bear where we were able to choose our homemade cookies and ice cream and make ice cream sandwiches. They were delicious and the kids thoroughly enjoyed them.
