Jesse, A Hero

On December 7 Jesse called to tell me that he had been injured at work. He was helping in a room where the patient was having a surgery on her back. She was lying on her stomach and because of the procedure she was not able to be completely sedated but had to remain partially awake. She complained to the doctor that her hip was hurting so he gave her some meds through the IV. Apparently that wasn't good enough because she started moving and since only her bottom half was strapped to the table, her top half started to fall off the table. Jesse was the only one who noticed so he dove to catch her hurting his knee and tearing his bicep tendon. He saved her life and the hospital a huge lawsuit. We're thankful his injuries weren't more severe and we feel it a blessing that he does not need to have surgery. The hospital realized the huge favor he did for them and, even though he's a traveler and they don't have to allow him to work, they are letting him do light duty work; another blessing.

Jesse is a wonderful nurse! I know he takes his job seriously but he also is his normal goofball self and tries to make people happy and lighten the mood when he can. I appreciate that, even though his arm hurts, he's still willing to go to work to provide for our family. I truly love that man!
